Episode 14 - Johnny Steele

THE EPIC 2ND COMING!!!

We're back! After another unexpected hiatus due to our intrepid hosts comedy schedule. This week Greg (@GregAsdourian) sits down with Bay Area comedy Legend Johnny Steele (@SteeleTweets)! Johnny is a staple of the historic Bay Area comedy scene. The two dive deep into what made the comedy landscape in the 80's and 90's what it was in San Francisco. The two also discuss their opposing fealings about growing up in Pittsburg CA. They discuss how comedy has changed and what it takes to still be a viable working act in todays comedy scene. This all leads into Johnny's new documentary '3 Still Standing': "It’s 1980 in San Francisco. Comic geniuses Robin Williams and Dana Carvey spearhead a new era of stand-up comedy. Next in line for the “big time” are three talented comics: Will Durst, Larry “Bubbles” Brown and Johnny Steele. But then, the comedy “crash” hits. Now, like millions of other downsized Americans, they scramble to survive, while also staying funny, relevant, and true to the art form they love." The Doc will be screening at the California Theater in Pittsburg CA on April 18th, followed by a live show. Get tickets at www.3stillstanding.com.
